The ECE R129/i-Size car seat standard stands as the latest and most advanced safety regulation for car seats in Europe. This standard ensures optimal compatibility with various vehicles, establishes a robust side-impact protection criterion, and extends the rearward-facing usage period. Notably, R129 mandates the integration of the harness to minimize the risk of misuse.

Our products go through strict internal and external tests and all mandatory certification processes to assure the highest levels of safety. With its unique hybrid functionality, Doona has been tested to meet the strictest EU standards for car seats, strollers and hand-held carriers.
Testing
Doona scored a high 5-star rating in frontal collision tests (the most frequent type of car accident). It was checked in hundreds of crash tests in leading global labs, including extreme weather conditions, collisions at very high speeds, etc. In addition, Doona established a fully automated, in-house testing facility to continuously conduct over 20 different tests to ensure safety and durability.
Anti-rebound protection
Doona's unique structure enables users to position the handle against the back seat of the car, providing the baby with exceptional anti-rebound protection. In case of a collision, the handle absorbs the impact and prevents the Doona from rotating quickly towards the back of the seat, dramatically reducing rebound injuries. This feature is applicable when utilizing the Doona i installed in the car without a base.

Doona is certified by the European authorities for air travel. Flight safety experts encourage parents to take the highest safety measures and use an approved car seat to secure the child throughout the flight.
Fail-safe mechanisms
The most common injury causes relating to car seats and strollers are misuse and improper installation. Our design and engineering teams developed multiple fail-safe mechanisms to assure safe operation. They prevent unintentional folding, a sudden extension of the handle while being carried, and rotation of the handle while being used.
Enhanced Side Impact Protection
Doona's innovative double-wall structure ensures effective side-impact protection. The Doona SIP add-on enhances this protection by absorbing energy in the event of a side collision, offering an extra layer of safety for the baby. Its magnetic connection is effortlessly simple.
Five-point harness
The 5-point harness ensures the child is in the safest position within the protective seat shell. Its five attachment points are designed to restrain your child at the shoulders and hips, which are the most rigid parts of their body. In case of an accident, the harness shifts the extreme forces of the crash to these rigid points and into the seat, better protecting the child’s abdomen.
Baby-safe materials
All materials are tested and approved under the strictest European standards and REACH regulation, including SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern). The materials used are free of any hazardous chemicals and tested for their quality to assure safe and continuous use.
